Daily Word TypE Challenge

How often do adults get to play each day? Do we even have time amid deadlines, responsibilities, and cat naps? For this challenge, I asked myself, “When it comes to design, what makes me happy? What brings me joy?” And the answer was…typography, but more importantly, playing with type.

For 30 days in June (because you know, June only has 30 days), I’ll be exploring typography based on a single typeface: CONFIG. Daily words courtesy of Sir Merriam Webster’s daily words app.

I can’t in good faith say these were all mentally mapped, sketched and executed. On the contrary, sometimes I had 3 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes (rarely) to design each word. The goal: just play.

COMPLETED: REFLECTIONS

What started out as a fun daily type exercise has really pushed me to think literally, figuratively and quite frankly, not to think too much. Overall, it was fun, so mission accomplished!
